On the occasion of its 7th Anniversary, HKBSF had launched the annual public education campaign called

Walkathon for Brightness 2015 on Saturday, 25 April, 2015. The main purpose was to promote public awareness

on the needs and abilities of the blind and visually impaired.  It was also the annual fund raising event so as to

raise funds to keep our blind sports services going. About 1,000 people with and without visual impairment

walked hand-in-hand along the Shing Mun River in Shatin starting from Shatin Central Park up to Shatin City One

and return. It was about 3 km in total. During the walk, our blind athletes shared with their sighted partners about

their live stories and how they overcome difficulties in training and become athletes in different sports. As for the

sighted partners, they learned, through this event, how to lead a blind person safely and correctly and had a better

understanding on people with visual impairment.
