The Hong Kong Blind Sports Federation has sent 8 visually impaired runners and 8 guide runners to participate in the Dyaco Taichung International Marathon held in November 2017.  Among them, 4 participated in the half marathon and four in the 9km race so as to promote our mission of "Equal Participation and Sports for All".

This was the first year our athletes participated in the Dyaco Taichung International Marathon.  They were very much motivated and excited about this competition.  They could not wait to apply their training techniques on this new race track and to achieve good results.

Although it was a completely new race, our well-trained and experienced runners were adapting well to it and everyone successfully completed the race and achieved good results.  Their coach, Mr. Ng Tsz Fung, waited for hours to watch them cross the finishing line and to cheer for them.   The coach seriously discussed with them their performances and results hoping that they would do better next time.

The following were the results:

Chu Kin Wa, half marathon first runner-up (visually impaired men’s category)

Kwong Yuet Moon, half marathon first runner-up (visually impaired women)

Chan Fai Ming, 9km champion (visually impaired men)
