UNICEF Charity Run 2017

2017-11-26

The UNICEF Charity Run, sponsored by the UNICEF Hong Kong Committee (UNICEF HK) and supported by the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association (HKAAA), was being held for the 12th year.

UNICEF Charity Run is not only an annual fund-raising event of UNICEF HK, it is also the only charity run recognised by the HKAAA and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races.

The Hong Kong Blind Sports Federation of course fully supports such a meaningful and large-scale competition.  On 26 November, 2017, 10 visually impaired athletes and 10 guide runners were arranged to participate in this competition to run for a good cause "Helping children to fight against AIDS.

The run started at 6 a.m.  Due to the cold weather and the relatively open space at the Disneyland Resort, the wind was extremely strong.  However, our visually impaired runners were well-prepared for such extreme weather conditions and fearlessly braved the cold wind.  They tried their best to run for good results and successfully complete the race.
