2018 Golf Tournament for All
In collaboration with the Golf 18 Club, HKBSF had organized the above golf tournament on 1 August, 2018 at Hong Kong Golf Club, Fanling. The Tournament was sponsored by Hong Kong Racehorse Owners Association Charitable Foundation. Altogether 25 teams with over 90 people with with and without visual impairment participated in the tournament. Each team consisted of 3 members (2 sighted & 1 visually impaired) and we had 8 visually impaired golfers participated in the tournament.
Participants were mainly members of the Golf 18 Club, and some were from different corporations, thanks to Mr. Peter Sun, Founding Chairman, Mr. Roger Ngan, HKBSF Chairman who helped mobilize quite a number of corporate teams to participate. Our Council Member, Mr. Gary Chan, also helped in venue set up and solicited some volunteers to help out in the tournament. Mr. Peter Sun, our Founding Chairman, Mr. Lee Yuen Fat, President of Golf 18 Club, and Prof. Suen Kai Lit officiated at the Tee-off Ceremony held at 8 a.m. After the tee-off ceremony, the tournament began.
Although the weather was very hot on that day, all golfers finished the tournament within 4 and half hours. We were very honored that Mr. Benson Lo, President of the Hong Kong Racehorse Owners Association Charitable Foundation, had kindly officiated at the Prize Presentation Ceremony and presented prizes to the winners. The event was ended with great success and truly reflect an inclusive society.
