Organized by the Hong Kong Blind Sports Federation and co-organized by the Rotary Club of Kwai Chung, the above tournaments were successfully held on Sunday, 18 January, 2015 from 10 am. to 1 p.m. at the Homantin Bowling Centre.

An Opening Strokes Ceremony was held prior to the commencement of the Tournament. We were grateful to Mr. Stephen Sui, JP, Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare, for honouring us with his presence as the Chief Officiating Guest. Other officiating guests included Ms. Vivien Lau, BBS JP, Chairman of Hong Kong Tenpin Bowling Congress and Vice President of Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, Mr. Jason Chan, former District Governor (2010-2011) of Rotary International District 3450, Mr. Chau Tak Wai, MH, Chairman of the Hong Kong Blind Sports Federation (HKBSF) and Mrs. Grace Chan, JP, Chief Executive Officer of HKBSF, Mr. Andy Li, Chairman of Liaison Committee of Rotary International District 3450 and former President of Rotary Club of Kwai Chung, and Mr. Cheung Wai King, former President of Rotary Club of Kwai Chung.

Altogether there were 30 teams with over 110 people with and without visual impairment to participate in this tournament. The main objective of this tournament is to promote an inclusive society and to arouse public awareness on the needs and abilities of the blind and visually impaired. Each team would consist of 1 visually impaired bowler and all sighted bowlers must be blindfolded to play for the first stroke.

The atmosphere of the tournament was overwhelming. Our objective to promote an inclusive society was achieved. In addition, through this tournament it had further aroused the interest of the participants in sports and opened up opportunities for participants to meet more new friends. It had widened the horizon of our visually impaired bowlers too and they all had a very enjoyable Sunday!

We were honoured to have Mr. Herman Hui, BBS MH JP, Chairman of Rehabilitation Advisory Committee, Ms. Belinda Yeung, District Governor of Rotary International District 3450 as our officiating guests and present prizes to the winners at the Prize Presentation Ceremony.
