The Hong Kong Blind Sports Federation had sent a team of 62 runners to take part in the Fubon Taipei Marathon held on Sunday, 20 December, 2014. This marathon was organized jointly by the Taipei Municipal Government and the Chinese Taipei Road Running Association. The event had attracted over 40,000 people to participate. Same as in previous years, they had set up the category for visually impaired runners to participate in full marathon, half marathon and 9K run

Among our 62 runners, 25 are visually impaired runners, 31 guide runners, 3 coaches and 3 supporting staff. Taipei is known to be a rainy city. Every year as and when the Fubon Taipei Marathon was held, our visually impaired runners had to face the cold wind and heavy rain to run. This year we were lucky that it only started to rain after the run was over. So all our runners could make their best performance this time.

This year the visually impaired Group had 18 prizes and our team had won 11 prizes. The performance was really very outstanding.

Sports could bring us strong physique. During training it will cultivate our persistence and bring in new energy. We are very glad to see that our visually impaired runners could overcome difficulties to get the best running results and win prizes! It clearly indicates that they have full self-confidence in themselves and are determined to win again in other overseas running events not only in Taipei but also in Asia and the World events!
